An Open Invition (or perhaps I should call it a Recruitment Drive) to play LotRO.

Hail and wellmet, freinds! You have probably not noticed, but I haven't talked to anyone much on this here LJ for the past week or so. This is because I have been busy with LotRO. What is LotRO, you ask? Lord of the Rings Online, a really REALLY spiffy cool online RPG. It is totally the shiny. The graphics (should your computer be able to support the full brunt of them) are incredibly pretty (and even if your computer can't and you have to turn the settings down, it's still pretty). The gameplay is nifty-keen. The story of the game centers around the events taking place in Middle-Earth prior to and around the time that the Fellowship of the Ring departs from Rivendell. Right now, gameplay is occuring in the northwest areas of Middle-Earth (basically, in the former kingdom of Arnor, where the Shire is located, stretching from the Grey Havens in the west to Rivendell in the east), but future expansions promise to hold much more, including Mirkwood and Gondor. But hey, if you don't give a fig about Tolkien and have no idea what I'm talking about, this game is still fun!

And right now, it's free. Yay, free! But only for another two weeks. Now's your chance to get in and experience it and see if you like it. Oh, and if you do decide to check it out? Why not play on Windfola server and hang out with inkwraith and I? *grins* We're currently taking in the sights of Ered Luin. You know, star-gazing, weapon-smithing, goblin-killing, spider-thrashing, the usual. We're looking for people to join our Fellowship. Possibly, we could even start a Kinship! Think of the fun! Think of the adventure! Here, have a fun song to get your blood pumping -- A Walking Song. 'Round the corner there may wait a hidden path or a secret gate!

I've been having a ball. So far I've made two characters: Lanthiril of Mirkwood, an elven hunter, and Narlinde of Rivendell, an elven minstrel. I'm going to try out other races (Elf, Man, Dwarf, Hobbit) and classes (Hunter, Minstrel, Captain, Guardian, Champion, Burgler, Lore-Master) next. It's really cool! Today I did a quest pretaining to the Lay of Nimrodel and Amroth, a rather tragic tale of lost love. Ah, elves... I mean, it's so cool! If you're a Tolkien fan at all, how can you pass this game up! I got to meet Elrond (briefly, in an instance) and dude, he was cool! Also, Elladan and Elrohir! I'm looking forward to meeting more cool characters. Including YOURS. *nudge* *grins*

YOU, TOO, could help defeat the evils of Middle-Earth! The Witch-king of Angmar is out there, and there are many fell-beasts to defeat!! C'mon! I leave you with one final word: Farewell Song of Merry and Pippin.

PS: Gap of Rohan peoples, c'mon. Seriously. What are you waiting for!?!
