book-love

Okay, okay, I'm almost finished writing my paper. Yes, I skipped my first two classes. Eh, I didn't really need to go to them anyway. I'm feeling much better this morning. Not so blah. So, the paper seems to be shaping up to be around ten pages long. That's pretty good, although formatting the dang thing sucks rocks. Stupid APA.

In more interesting news, I organized my "to read" stacks of books into one big stack. It's almost as tall as I am. ^_^' Oh dear.

I think I have this dragon-like hoarding instinct. I mean, I like acquiring books, but I certainly won't read them all. Anime, too, although I do have SOME hope that I'll eventually watch most of the anime I've collected. I blame the library book stores that sell nifty books for only fifty cents. Yes, it's all their fault for allowing me to give into temptation and indulging myself in the cheap thrill of buying books.

You know that musty old book smell that catches dryly in the back of your throat? I love that! Crumbly corners and all. But new book smell is even better. A pristine book, without bent edges, without eye-tracks (hehe), that has never been opened... it's almost a religious experience reading it for the first time, cherishing it. And then it becomes a well-used, well-read, well-loved book and is thus that much more special. Yeah...

Okay, I'm obviously a bit cracked. Am I just a bibliophile or am I a bibliomaniac?
