The Dreamer of a Thousand Names for Starlight

I've made an interesting discovery about my musical preferences. I think I like raw songs better than those re-mixed to death in a sound studio. I think that's why I was in to heavy metal for a long time, to get that raw quality. But now I know I can find it in indie bands and in some punk music. Those don't have that, well, I don't know what to call it really, that MTV-polish that takes all the soul out of it. There are exceptions, of course. But see, I was just listening to Pink and thinking how good she would be if they just recorded her screams as they are and sent them out instead of touching them up and flatening them out. Like live-in-concert songs. Well, I'm being a bit silly, I do like a lot of pre-packaged, highly-polished stuff. Whatever.

Does anyone else sometimes feel this way? Caught between the emotion in raw songs and the fun sing-along beats in polished songs? Eh, I'm just weird. Tastes change with mood, I guess. I don't know what I'm saying. The more I type the more confused I sound. Grr.
