Monday I woke up just before 6am and still I get to my very first class of the semester five minutes late because 1) the bus driver was SO INCREDIBLY SLOW and 2) the clocks in the Psych Department are all fast. But Psychoneuroendoimmunology is SO FREAKIN' COOL!!!!!! We get to dissect brains and study hormones and other drugs that'll fuck with your mind! Right on! Human Factors is pretty cool, too. The prof is hot. She has this looooong blonde hair and a gentle Southern accent and she's a Star Trek fan. Heh. Oh, and the subject is pretty interesting, too.
Tuesday I went to what shall henceforth be know as the Allergy Class. This is because it has furry things in it. Specifically, Rattus norvegicus, Mus musculus (both hairless and hairy), Mesocricetus auratus, Phodopus sungorus, and Cavia porcellus. I picked up one of the Phodopus sungorus' (that's a Russian dwarf hamster, by the way) because it was SO CUTE. By the end of class, I could FEEL my eyes starting to swell, and this was WITH the pill I took prior to class. Gonna be a long (but fun) semester. I also had Ethics, which didn't seem so bad, and Creativity which was... interesting. Creativity is all about the internet, apparently. I will be making a website. So. After I got through with my classes, I went to buy my textbooks and supplies. Got most of the stuff I need (including some latex gloves for Allergy Class -- hey, I thought of getting a face mask, too!) and waited in line to buy it all for half an hour. Then I lugged it all onto the bus and then I drove home through rush hour traffic and then I had dinner and then I crashed. Literally. I went to sleep. I woke up sometime in the middle of the night and took my clothes off, then went back to sleep. I slept over ten hours last night. Whew!
Wednesday was cool. More Psychoneuroendoimmunology and Human Factors, plus a two hour stint in the library. Good stuff. Oh, and there was a wee protest rally on campus today that was covered by all the news networks. It was a stupid protest, though. They were protesting the new chapter of the ROTC opening on our campus. I mean, come on, if you're going to protest something, protest Bush's crazy warmongering or environmental depredations or something! Not the ROTC! Hell, I was IN the JROTC in high school, it's not that bad! And it gives an opportunity for a higher education for just a wee bit of service to the country. Stupid protesters.
And on the way home today, I saw this girl driving a very very pink sports car with the blonde Powerpuff Girl painted on it. Weird.
So, sometime soon I have to get all my immunization shots for my classes, pay my lab fees, pay the fucking "adjusted retroactive registration fee," do my homework, burn all the anime that I promised to people and send it out, buy the rest of my textbooks, and sleep.
I think I'll start on that last one right now.
