Things I learned: My Anthropology teacher lived in a Greek cave for several months in the 60's. Trippy. My Behavioral Neuroscience teacher lived in the jungles of Panama with an Indian tribe for two summers. She's also a deer hunter.
Speaking of Sally (the Neuroscience professor, that is), she is one spiffy lady. Today in class she did this whole pirate analogy to illustrate the workings of a neuron, complete with props (a pirate hat, a telescope, a bananna...). And she passed out donut holes. She made one of the students get up in front of the class and juggle some of them. Then she strained a bite of the bananna through her teeth and interjected a random comment about a bagpiper. Then she did the dopaminergic dance. She was so excited by how spiffy the word "dopaminergic" sounds that she did a cute little dance before writing it on the board.
One thing about that class -- you never get bored in it.
