Destiny - chained to reading

(no subject)

Although I seem to have caught yet another cold and although I haven't slept more than four hours in each of the last three nights due to my nose being clogged, I had a really nice day today. Talked with friends and family this morning, which was nice and gave me warm fuzzies, then hopped the train to Kobe where I hung out with Jenny. We went hiking up into the hills and saw a spectacular waterfall. Unfortunately, we also saw a poor snake fighting to get out of the water. It didn't make it. :-( But we had fun anyway, and the struggle for survival was really poignant to watch (and no, we couldn't have helped, if we'd tried we'd probably have died, too). I bought a whole bunch of books for cheap, including a couple I've read before and want to read again. YAY, BOOKS!!!! Seriously, YAY YAY YAY YAY YAY YAY BOOKS!!!

So, for the third morning in a row I woke up at 4am with my nose stuffed up and my throat sore and just generally miserable, so I took a bath and I almost drowned myself by falling asleep in it. Fortunately, my bathtub is too small for me to actually get my head underwater without some major effort, so yeah, I live.

I swear to god, the drugs here are completely sub-par. I want me some hardcore American cold medicine that'll knock me out and leave me feeling floaty. Goddammit, why am I getting sick so often!? I am taking care of myself, taking vitamins and eating right. Maybe it's just the contact with all of the germ-infested children, I dunno.

At least the headache I've had since Saturday is currently being held at bay by the painkillers.
