my holiday weekend

Thanksgiving dinner was interesting. The coming together of two families, one Jewish, one.... variable. With almost 50 people, it was a good thing that we had two houses to wander through. I ended up sitting at a table (there were 4 tables) with four people I didn't know, a couple from Washington and some newlyweds. Kind of interesting. Mark's bread and my cookies were hits. My cousin Casey and I hung out together, occasionally eying the two people from my sisters husbands family that were closest to our age. And the children wouldn't let me play with the pin-ball machine. But I still had fun.

Friday, tossblack and I went to Loscon. It was kind of.... dinky. I mean, the dealers room only had about twenty tables. And there were no interestin panels or guests. And the anime room (note the singular) was small. I guess I've been spoiled by San Diego's International Comics Con. I did buy a necklace with a little compartment in it and a 1,000 year old Chinese coin and a few books. We saw some people in costume, but not many. I've been to Loscon before, but it's never seemed so boring before. We had fun anyway. We did some Regency dancing, and then some modern club dancing. I actually danced more than Al did. She got distracted. Anyway, I danced until 2:10am when the DJ played "Closing Time" and then we left. I didn't actually get home until 3:30 in the morning.

Today, I went to visit oshunanat, who came down from school for the holiday. I was glad to see her because she's gone so often, but driving through the wind and rain was a bitch. We had fun. Watched an episode of "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" that I had missed and then we did some shoping. After that we went back to her house and watched "Legally Blonde" and had a yummy dinner.

The only problem with my four day weekend so far is that I've had a low-level headache since Thursday. Nothing impairing, but it still sucks.

Tomorrow is Sunday. Tomorrow I must do homework. Tomorrow I have to return those books that were actually due today to the library. Tomorrow I might have to meet with my research group again, but I won't know for sure until we stop playing phone tag with each other. Tomorrow, tomorrow, tomorrow, it's only a day away!
