The entry in which I complain about my job, sorta.

Today I taught seven full classes, one mini-lesson of only half an hour, and I interviewed/level-checked a new student. The mini-lesson was with a(nother goddam) 3-year-old and it was sprung on me with absolutely NO notice at all. However, I apparently impressed the hell out of the kid's mom, because she signed him up immediately, so now I have another of that most fearsome type of student -- a child under the age of 7 (and this is on top of the two from last week that signed up). Yay? Um, no, more like ICK. Bleh. Holee crap do I have a lot of children students! Seriously, ugh. I hate children but they just ADORE me. Why, why!?!?!

I probably got this cold I have from one of those little buggers. Oh, and if I thought buying food in a foreign language was an interesting exercise in guessing, then buying drugs is even more interesting! However, the Japanese do know how to make their drugs cute and sweet, so it doesn't really matter that they don't seem to help at all.

I tried takoyaki today and it's really yummy!

School party last night (welcoming party for the new manager and the new part-time teacher) was nice. Continuted in the fine traditions of running for the last train and not actually getting drunk, even though I drank quite a bit. Was, um, talked at by a fine looking young guy whose command of the English language was the word "elephant" (which is more than I can say for my command of the Japanese language) and who had a picture of Paris Hilton as his cellphone wallpaper and who insisted that I feel his muscles. Oh, and I swear that getting "drunk" for a lot of Japanese is a type of performance art.

Anyway, this was a very long Saturday (actually, now it's Sunday, but whatever). Japan would be so much cooler if I didn't have to work, you know?

(ETA: I also have one of the stupidly repetitive kid's songs stuck in my head. AAAARGH!)
