dum dum DA dum!

On Saturday night, two of my students took me out to dinner and plied me with tremendous amounts of food (sashimi, chicken livers, salad, okonomiyaki, teriyaki skewers) and alcohol (shochu and... something orange-y). It was nice, especially since it only lasted an hour. ^__^

Sunday I did absolutely nothing of consequence, just messed around on the internet a lot, especially YouTube.

Today I talked to my mum and Mark this morning, re-watched Pirates of the Caribbean: Curse of the Black Pearl this afternoon, and went into Umeda with Jenny to watch Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest at the theater this evening.

Um. Is this the same Norrington as from the last movie? I mean, they LOOK the same, but really now...

Lameass fight scenes of lamey lame lameness. C'mon, a rolling waterwheel?!?!? Stupid.

I think they spent too much time of the special effects and not enough on the script. Seriously, huh? This movie... wasn't funny. There were places I laughed, but it didn't make me grin like the first one did. I liked all of the allusions to the first movie, but they needed to come up with some fresh gags and they didn't. It just wasn't as fun.

Overall, I liked it, but it was still a bit of a disappointment. Also, the ending, wtf!!

All that said, these Captain Jack Sparrow and Will Turner dolls are totally awesome. Wow.
