The case of the forgotten sandwich.

The story: So, this morning, I made a truly fabulous sandwich. Soft, thick slices of brown bread were toasted to perfection then slathered with creamy yellow mustard. Sliced roast beef was layered on, then a square slice of individually packaged processed white cheese-stuff. A perfect, ripe red tomato was sliced into four thick, delicious parts and put on next and finally, several leaves of lettuce were added before the other piece of bread was smushed on top.

All told, it was indeed a fine, tasty-looking creation. However. I left it on my table and forgot to take it to work with me. Thus, it was sitting out all day (about 12 hours, all told). When I got home tonight, I put it back in the fridge right away, but now I'm wondering... is this divine creation still okay to eat? It's not, like, hot here or anything, so it should be fine for me to take to work for lunch tomorrow, right? Right...?

Poll #874516 To eat the sandwich, or not eat the sandwich, that is the question.

Should I eat the sandwich?

Yeah, go ahead, I'm sure it's fine.
Yes, if it doesn't look or smell funky.
It might be okay... but, then again, it might not be...
I really wouldn't if I were you.
Are you a nutcase? NO, do NOT eat the sandwich!
