THANK GOD FOR THANKSGIVING BREAK. As stupidly painful as furlough days are, it's kinda nice to have the whole week of Thanksgiving off. I did lectures and readings and tests all day today -- no group work the day before a break, the kids were squirrely enough already! I swear, when we get back, I'm teaching nothing but easy grammar lessons and stupid shit like how to write an annotated bibliography in MLA format.
So. I have resolved to totally finish grading those 120 essays over this break, along with finishing writing my Giver unit plan, making enough warm-up activities for the rest of the year, making all the vocabulary powerpoints that I'll need for the semester, and go over the My Side of the Mountain materials I have to see what I want to use. Oh, and I need to write that silly little TPA 4 thing, upon which my entire future career rests. No big. (Watch, I'm totally going to end up playing LotRO and watching Doctor Who instead... sigh.)
Oh, and hey! Spiffytastic news! Come December, I will be the official recs-person for the BBC Sherlock fandom over at crack_van! Reading tons of Sherlock fic, huzzah! :D
