My nephew's birthday is tomorrow. He's nine.
I spent a lot of this morning fleshing out the background details for a rather minor character in a fanfic story I'm (thinking about) writing. It's Harry Potter Draco/Ron slash and the character is an OFC. DADA professor. A bit Mary Sue-ish. Has a thing for Snape. Likes sparkly things. Okay, more than a bit Mary Sue-ish... but I promise never to write the story, so that's okay.
I usually don't much care for OFCs (or OMCs) in my fanfic reading, but if done well, I'll read it. Actually, there are a couple of really good OFCs in some of my favorite Highlander stories. And Kowalski's daughter is a a wonderful OFC convention. Too bad authors who write her seem bent on killing her off to add to the Ray-angst. I also like original characters set in the fanfic universe, but not interacting with the characters of canon. Hmm, you know what? I think my DADA professor is the first original character I've thought about inserting (in a major way, not just as cannon fodder) into a story.
Eh, whatever, just rambling... I'll stop now. Or not.
Cool. SNAPE ROCKS! But... Hermaphrodite!Harry? What, someone has actually written this? I don't know whether to be intrigued or completely squicked. But I'm leaning towards squicked.
Hmm, I seem to be doing a lot of quizzes lately. Ah, lj clutter...
You are the Snapeslashers. You keep yourselves to yourselves and other than the fact that you have somehow decided that pairing Harry and Snape makes the blindest bit of sense, you're actually not that bad. Out of respect for your hopeless mission, we will leave you alone.
